Dr. Epstein joined RAH in 1989 from the University of Minnesota where as a fellow and instructor in cardiovascular radiology, he conducted research in vascular and nonvascular interventional radiology, and developed a specialized needle used in the assessment of urinary tract obstructions. Dr. Epstein's areas of expertise include the fields of invasive and noninvasive vascular assessment and endovascular intervention, including the use of caval filters, vascular stents, thrombolytics, angioplasty, atherectomy and venous access. He developed the transhepatic portocaval shunt program at Memorial Regional Hospital. Dr. Epstein served for 5 years as president of the South Florida Society of Interventional Radiology, and has also served on the Broward County Medical Association Board of Directors and Board of Censors.
